jUST TWO AND A HALF HOURS FROM CARTAGENA ALONG A SCENIC COASTAL ROAD, IS THE PLACE LOCAS LIKE TO GO WHEN THEY GO TO THE CARRIBEAN-IT IS TWO CITIES IN ONE: TOLU IS A SMALL TOWN WITH A LONG MALCON ON THE SEA, AND MANY SMALL RESTAURANTS, TOLU IS A SHORT BICITAXI RIDE, AND A WORLD AWAY AND HAS SOME OF THE BEST BEACHES ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, NOT TO lA CIENEGA CAIMANERA.

Coveñas- Town in Colombia

Canoeing through the Caribbean, near Tolu, on the way to Ciénaga La Caimanera. The swamp is part of a restoration park to reinsert the South American alligator, which is in danger of extinction. Our guide is a fifteen-year-old high school student making extra money on the weekends. This tour costs us the equivalent of five dollars for both of us to ride.
